Auburn, CA

Auburn is the county seat of Placer County, California. Its population was 13,330 during the 2010 census. Auburn is known for its California Gold Rush history, and is registered as a California Historical Landmark. Auburn is part of the Sacramento metropolitan area and is home to the Auburn State Recreation Area., the site of a number of sporting endurance events. Events include the Western States Endurance Run, the Western States Trail Ride, also known as Tevis Cup Equestrian Ride; American River 50 Mile Endurance Run; American River 50 Mile Equestrian Ride; Way Too Cool 50 Kilometer Endurance Run; Endurance Run; Auburn International Half Iron Triathlon; Auburn Century 100 Mile Bike Ride; Coolest 24 Hour Mountain Bike Race; Rio Del Lago 100 Mile Endurance Run; Sierra Nevada 50 Mile Endurance Run; and the Coolest Run: Ride & Tie.


Colfax, CA

Colfax (formerly, Alden Grove, Alder Grove, Illinoistown, and Upper Corral) is a city in Placer County, California at the crossroads of Interstate 80 and State Route 174. It is part of the Sacramento-Arden-Arcade-Roseville Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,963 at the 2010 census. The town is named in honor of U.S. Vice President Schuyler Colfax (1869-73), a bronze statue of bronze statue of whom stands at Railroad Street and Grass Valley Street. (This is the only known statue of Schuyler Colfax in the United States).

Some of the town's notable features include the newly restored Southern Pacific Railroad colonnade-style depot (which houses the Colfax Museum and Chamber of Commerce) built in 1905,the downtown shops on Main Street, and Colfax High School, which serves a large surrounding area.

Granite Bay, CA

Granite Bay The unincorporated Placer County community of Granite Bay had a population of about 20,402 residents at the 2010 census and covers an area of approximately 25 square miles. It is situated on the north shore of Folsom Lake about 25 miles northeast of Sacramento on the eastern edge of the Sacramento Valley at the base of the Sierra foothills.

The community boasts of a very high quality of life due to its great location, sound community plan, first rate schools, numerous churches, a low crime rate and excellent recreation opportunities. The community is home to some of the Sacramento areas finest and most exclusive homes.

Lincoln, CA

Lincoln is a city in Placer County, California, part of the Sacramento/Roseville metropolitan area. Located in an area of rapid suburban development, it grew 282.1 percent between 2000 and 2010, making it the fastest growing city over 10,000 people in the U.S. Its 2015 population was estimated to be 45,837.

Long before Europeans first set foot upon this continent, people found this area hospitable. The verdant hills and plains held an abundance of resources, and the Nisenan—a branch of the Maidu Indians—established a large village on the site that would become the City of Lincoln.

With the discovery of gold, Easterners began streaming toward the Sierra Nevada, in search of their fortunes. Towns sprung up overnight, but the site of Lincoln remained unsettled until 1859.

Loomis, CA

Loomis (formerly, PinePino, Smithville, and Placer) is an town in Placer County, California. It is part of the Sacramento-Roseville Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 6,733 as estimated by the US Census in 2015. It shares borders with the city of Rocklin and the Census-Designated Places Penryn and Granite Bay.

The biggest event in Loomis is the Eggplant Festival which offers entertainment, arts and crafts, food, and children's' activities. 2012 was the 25th anniversary of the Eggplant Festival. Smaller festivities include the Loomis Thursday Night Family Fest during summer and the Cowpoke Fall Gathering.

Meadow Vista, CA

Meadow Vista is a census-designated place in Placer County, California. It is part of the Sacramento-Folsom-Roseville Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 3,217 at the 2010 census, up from 3,096 at the 2000 census.

Meadow Vista is one of a dozen small communities located adjacent to the I-80 corridor from Auburn to the Ski slopes near Truckee and Quick Silver lure of Reno. Nestled securely in the foothills of the majestic High Sierra Nevada Mountains, Meadow Vista is low enough to catch a dusting of snowflakes in the winter and high enough to avoid the summer heat of the Sacramento Valley.

Rocklin, CA

Rocklin is a city in Placer County, California located approximately 22 miles (35 km) from Sacramento, California, and about 6.1 miles (9.8 km) northeast of Roseville in the Sacramento-Roseville metropolitan area. Besides Roseville, it shares borders with Granite Bay, Loomis and Lincoln. As of the 2010 census, Rocklin's population was 56,974. The California Department of Commerce placed the 2019 population at 69,249 with a 3.8% growth rate.

Rocklin ranked the best place in Placer County to raise a family in 2019.

Roseville, CA

Roseville (formerly, Roseville Junction, Junction, and Grider's) is the largest city in Place County, California, United States, in the Sacramento metropolitan area. As of 2016, the US Census Bureau estimated the city's population to be 132,683. Interstate 80 runs through Roseville and State Route 65 runs through part of the northern edge of the city.

The city was a railroad town for decades, with the railroad employing up to 1,225 people by 1929, out of a population of only 6,425 people. With the onset of World War II, the rail yards became busier than ever and the post-war building boom brought continued prosperity. However, the nature of the city changed dramatically in the 1950s.
